Every year, hundreds of billions of tons of organic biomass, waste products of living organisms, are formed on Earth. Biomass produces 10 times more energy than all the inhabitants of the Earth need today. Want to make money on an infinite and cheap source of energy? Our the fast pyrolysis plant FPP02 will help you.
Why is biomass profitable?
Biomass refers to renewable resources – how it compares favorably with natural resources. Sources of biomass are:
- forest leaves and peat;
- wood and wood waste;
- human waste;
- industrial waste;
- special plants and agricultural crops.
Biomass takes 5th place in the list of renewable energy sources – after solar, wind, water and geothermal energy. In Russia alone, about 300 million tons of dry biomass from organic matter in the form of garbage and agricultural waste is produced every year. This resource is 25 times higher than oil production. In the future, recycled organic waste will be used even more widely.
Modern biomass processing will solve fuel and environmental crises, and at the same time earn good money by selling the energy received. And the processing plant FPP02 installed at an agricultural enterprise, a landfill and any suitable place will provide energy for production, increasing its profitability, or housing stock.
Methods for processing biomass
The pyrolysis biomass into fuel or thermal energy is carried out in five main ways:
Burning is the easiest and most popular way to get cheap energy from dry organic waste. During the burning of waste, steam forms in the boiler, steam rotates the turbine, and that, in turn, moves the rotor of the generator that produces electricity. This method has a minus – the boiler is clogged with ash and soot, and production costs increase. Therefore, far from all types of organic waste are used in direct burning.
Gasification – burning solid biofuels with minimal oxygen. The result of this treatment is a mixture of gases (nitrogen, methane, hydrogen, carbon dioxide) used to rotate a gas turbine. The main advantage of the technology is the resulting clean fuel that does not pollute the environment. Methane is used as a fossil natural gas right now, hydrogen will be used for the same purposes in the foreseeable future.
Pyrolysis – processing of biomass into fuel by heating with removal of volatile compounds. It turns out the usual biochar for the user, several times more energy-intensive and convenient for transportation material. Biochar is useful for heating housing stock, production processes. Modern methods include the use of volatile substances formed during pyrolysis for the synthesis of methane and methanol. The fast pyrolysis technology allows you to get biooil – an effective fuel, convenient in storage and transportation. Biofuels for cars are cheaper than fossil oil, safer for the environment; It is suitable for all engines and extends their service life. Another substance that can be obtained by pyrolysis is phenol oil, which is used to make plastics and wood glue.
Anaerobic fermentation – waste treatment using anaerobic bacteria, the food of which is non-living organic matter (waste water, manure). Consuming it in special cooking tanks, bacteria produce hydrogen and methane. The resulting gas is collected to be used to generate electricity. This method allows you to recover 2/3 of the fuel from biomass.
Fermentation – the use of microorganisms of the yeast type to obtain fuel (ethanol and other hydrocarbons). The method makes it possible to use almost all existing variations of household waste – from grain husks and paper waste to sugarcane and wood.
When choosing the most suitable processing option, consider a number of nuances – from the cost of the processing plant itself to its productivity and ability to work with different materials. The pyrolysis model is a universal option for generating energy from organic waste.
